RTM was able to conduct the advocacy programs as it has developed working relationship with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Nursing Council of Bangladesh, Technical Education Board, Nursing Training Institute, Paramedics Training Institutes, Hospitals, Mass Media, Private Medical Institutions, Private Universities and Medical Colleges. In addition, RTM staff worked with the MOHFW in drafting policy guideline for GOB for offering B.Sc. course in Nursing in private sector. A team from RTM worked with USAID’s global flagship program Food and Nutrition Technical Assistance (FANTA) since 2010 for developing the PROFILES estimates and costing for Nutrition program in Bangladesh. With the findings, the team advocated with parliamentarians, policy makers, politicians and CSOs for developing Champions in Nutrition for taking the Nutrition agenda forward. Research, Training and Management (RTM) International worked in the field of maternal and child health and in collaboration with Food and Nutrition Technical Assistant (FANTA) Project, advocated for a common platform for coordinated action on nutrition by targeting policy makers, parliamentarians, politicians and NGOs to kick-start a movement. The RTM-FANTA initiative identified potential nutrition champions (Key policy makers, parliamentarians and politicians) to create movement towards increased resource and mainstreaming nutrition services. RTM in collaboration with FANTA held a series of advocacy meetings with parliamentarians, policy makers and politicians with a view to orient them or nutrition situation in Bangladesh, bringing out its problems and challenges and ensuring their commitment to nutrition in their own political manifestos.
