RTMI-Human Resource Development Center (HRDC)

RTM International Human Resources Development Center, a multi-storied complex situated in Sylhet city, was opened on 22 June 2014. This Center, built partially with a grant from the Embassy of Japan, is equipped with qualified teaching staff and modern amenities. It houses the Community Paramedics Training Institute. In 2010, RTM International obtained registration from the National Institute of Population Research and Training (NIPORT) and affiliation of state Medical Faculty for offering Community Paramedics training course. This is a 2 year training program open for meritorious students who have earned HSC certificate. On completion of the course, these Paramedics will provide service in their own community on self-employment basis. Thus the present dearth of skilled MCH workforce in the community will be reduced. Community Paramedics (CP) course is newly introduced in the country’s health sector. It follows an approved policy outlining the guidelines for the institution registration and course accreditation. Initiatives related to the introduction of CP and policy approval were the result of RTM Interventions taken under its Private Sector Health Project (2005-2010). The Health Technologists training course and Medical Assistants training course will soon be launched by the center for which necessary government approved has been obtained.
